What is rice protein meal?

Rice protein powder refers to protein extracted from rice, which is processed by popul, purification, drying, and so on to form a powdered material.

Rice protein meal is an important product in the deep processing of rice, which can be divided into feed grade rice protein meal, food grade rice protein meal, and rice protein peptide based on their protein content and solubility.

What is the composition of rice protein meal?

Rice protein is mainly composed of four proteins, albumin, globulin, gliadin and glutenin, which have a reasonable amino acid composition and are high in amino acids and are recognized as excellent edible proteins.

How to judge the quality indicators of rice protein meal?

1. Look appearance: rice protein powder is yellow powder, no agglomeration, impurities visible to the naked eye can't be, smell, with the flavor characteristic of rice protein;

2. Look at protein indicators: protein content is required to be ≥ 80%, there are also many commercially available products with protein content below 80%, and those are not food grade or non quality rice protein powders;

3. Judge if nontransgenic: rice that needs to be provided with a test report or raw rice having a protein meal, field drawn and confirmed to be nontransgenic;

4. Look at impurity substance content indicators: moisture ≤ 8%, ash ≤ 6%, fat ≤ 8%, the smaller the several indicators, the better these substances affect the quality, and are easy to agglomerate with protein powder;

5. Look at heavy metal content indicators: heavy metals such as lead ≤ 0.18, arsenic ≤ 0.5, and mercury ≤ 0.02 must be controlled within the standard range, and the smaller the value below the indicator, the safer;

6. Look at the indicators of bacterial content: total number of colonies ≤ 10000, aflatoxin B1 ≤ 10, Escherichia coli flora ≤ 30, etc., all under a certain range, otherwise considered unqualified rice protein powder;
