Centella asiatica, commonly known as centella, Brahmi, Asiatic pennywort or Gotu kola, is a herbaceous plant used as a medicinal herb. It is native to wetlands in Asia.
Centella contains pentacyclic triterpenoids, including asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic.
In traditional medicine, C. asiatica has been used to treat various disorders and minor wounds and to encourage lactation, it's also known as a vegetable of rejuvenating properties.
