Garcinia cambogia (a former scientific name) is a common name, as are gambooge, brindleberry, brindall berry, Malabar tamarind, assam fruit, vadakkan puli (northern tamarind), and kudam puli (pot tamarind). This fruit resembles a little pumpkin and ranges in color from green to pale yellow. It has recently attracted a lot of media attention due to its alleged weight loss properties. |
