Flaxseed - Excellent Hypotensive Food

Studies have demonstrated that flaxseed extract lowers blood pressure and lowers the chance of developing diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and other diseases. Flaxseed is a well-known traditional food and diet that is full of nutrients and beneficial compounds like lignan and omega-3 fatty acids. Flaxseed has demonstrated to help lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes due to these chemicals. In a paper titled "Blood Pressure Functional Foods" written by researchers at the University of Lodz Medical School in Poland, it was suggested that flaxseed may assist to decrease blood pressure. A meta-analysis of 15 clinical trials with 1,302 participants was done to examine the hypotensive effects of flaxseed supplementation.

Researchers discovered that supplementing with flaxseed decreased participants' systolic and diastolic blood pressure by 2.85 mm Hg and 2.39 mm Hg, respectively. Additionally, it was discovered that consuming flaxseed supplements for longer than 12 weeks caused the systolic and diastolic blood pressure to drop by 3.10 mm Hg and 2.62 mm Hg, respectively. It was discovered that flaxseed powder had a larger impact than flaxseed oil. This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials, according to the study's author, "showed that all types of flaxseed products and supplements can significantly lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure."
